Kiddie Korral 2.0 is not your standard preschool program.
We are a part of the ND Best in Class program.
The curriculum that they will be using is created specifically for children the year before kindergarten. The curriculum focuses on all developmentally age-appropriate learning. There are 7 areas of learning within early education: communication/language, physical development, personal/social/emotional development, literacy, mathematics, understanding the world around them, and expressive arts/design. This specific curriculum encompasses all of them at an age-appropriate level.
What they are wanting from the Best-in-Class programs, is that the kids are ready for kindergarten both intellectually and academically. As well as being emotionally prepared.
The Best-in-Class program started in 2021 as a pilot program and this year was released from the "pilot" stage and the state of ND has officially adopted the program.
Miss Mirna and Miss Kat are being trained, coached, and supported by professionals from around the state.
Here is the link for the curriculum that the program uses. You will be able to see the extent of everything they will be working on.

Part of the program also utilized the Waterford-Upstart program to tap into all of the areas of learning.

The teachers also use Teaching Strategies to observe, assess, and monitor the child's development. This way we can catch any struggles of delays as soon as possible. The TS reports can be printed for you to view at any time.

North Dakota's Best in Class program is a state investment in programs that provide high-quality experiences for children and families. The program is based on the idea that children with behavioral issues should have learning environments tailored to their individual needs. It also focuses on family engagement, which can help families who might not otherwise have access to quality programs, screenings, and referrals.
The program was established by the 2021 67th Legislative Assembly and is intended to serve children and families in North Dakota the year before they start kindergarten. The state's investment is scheduled to continue through June 2025, but programs must submit a new application each year. The programs are closely monitored and evaluated to ensure the program's impact and continued funding.
The Best-in-Class program includes:
Teacher training: Teachers learn effective instructional strategies to prevent and address problem behavior in young children.
Performance-based coaching: Teachers receive coaching based on their performance.
Family engagement: The program offers opportunities for family engagement, such as screenings and referrals for physical health, vision, hearing, oral health, and development.
